Hey ya!
Let’s start the Show! Once again I find myself educating the “new-comers” and pleasing the “old-schoolers” with a heavy dosage of Sneak Beats. First off, I went back to South Beach Miami to give the stamp of approval on my homeboy’s Bar formerly known as the Laundry Bar, now called 305 MUSIC LOUNGE! Juan, the owner, did some renovations and now the place really feels like a Lounge/Bar rather than a place to do laundry while enjoying some drinks. The Laundry Bar was a dope concept but the new set up is definitely something to enjoy! I put it down like I usually do and set the pace for WMC 2009! I will for sure continue doing my Sneak Beats events at 305 as this place has the capability of creating a great small party vibe. I have some links to the SEP 26th date for download … as usual, first come first serve. My recorder kinda screwed up a little that night so I had to edit this one part out so it wouldn’t just sound mono. I hope to see you all at WMC 2009, we’ll have the usual suspects come thru to play some great house music for you all.

Back in Toronto Canada, my boy Mario J from A.D/D. promoted this Red bull event that featured 2 of my Favorite acts, Jaime Lidell from England via Berlin who opened up with a freaky “Prince” like flavor performance that really set the mood for the rest of the night. Then Chromeo came out and put on a great show which I knew they would! Stay tuned cause I'm feeling a Chromeo Remix in the works. This party was dope, especially for a Thursday night in Toronto. I was glad to be invited, so we had to check it out even though we were suppose to be on the road that day to my most favorite Canadian destination, Timmims.
Oh yeah, Cottage Life is great! My wife and I took a trip up to Timmins, Northern Ontario. This is where I stop being DJ SNEAK and become “CARLOS THE BUSH MAN”. As usual, I tried all the fun stuff you do out in the wild like fishing, boating, campfire building and my new found love … Huntin! Yeah baby! I did a bunch of target shooting to get some practice and then the next day went out hunting for partridge (kinda like quail birds). I shot 2 and we cleaned them up and made a stew. You should see me with my BUSH hunting gear on, it’s priceless. I love going up north to unwind a little from all the traveling and stresses. I love the fact that I take no computer, phone or electronics with me and all I like to do is relax and enjoy the scenery. If you’ve never experienced something like this before, I STRONGLY suggest trying it someday!
OK! back to the real thing. We move on to SMART BAR in Chicago where Wally Callerio, JDUB and I put a serious beat down for Wally’s Dufflebag Records 10th year anniversary party. I was very excited to play and chill with my fellow Chicago peeps cause it’s been a while since I’ve played the CITY! I have some great memories of the night, everybody came out to show love and it was great cause that’s really what it’s all about. Derrick Carter, Diz, DJ Heather were among the DJ ELITE that came out to have a good time with the boys. I wanna send shouts to all who came out and also to newly appointed Midwest HAWT member ORI, you da man!
After the “Chitown-Beat-down” I headed out to Europe to play a few gigs and bring back the good old party feeling to a few people that needed it. I started the tour in Amsterdam, I played a place called the power-zone for the ADE 2008. There were a lot of people that did not know the power of the “sneak sound” but I did what I usually do and put down some heavy beats. It’s not a bad thing to throw myself at these types of crowds as I feel these crowds need it the most after being fed all this crappy music for the last 6 to 8 years, no worries the sneak train is making more stops in the most unexpected places to open up the ears of many who need it.
So I continued the tour to Hull England. I was excited to play the “Dejavu” night especially because the last time I played, I played a side room, and this time around they had me headline the main room for nearly 4 hours … I guess the demand is there for real funky HOUSE!! Good times are coming back to the nightclubs and venues formerly run by other styles. I want to thank Chris Simmonds & Matty for driving up from London to hang out and give support as usual, real troopers go all the way …. Much love! I recorded most of the set and I cut it up for you all to enjoy, again first come first serve to the first 200 people that want these.

And so the HOUSE TRAIN continued to Waterford Ireland! I swear this city has a special place in my Heart … I missed a gig recently so I really wanted to make up for it and I felt I did. I requested to open up & close it out, so I played from when the doors opened until the lights came on … What a night! I loved every minute of it; I know the people of Waterford did too. I always feel welcome there and I’m always looking forward to going back! Special thanks to ALL and especially Soydon, besides keeping the house music sound alive in Waterford he makes sure you feel good to do your best when you’re on the decks. I did record all of it so you know the deal. Enjoy.

Next stop was Estonia. Halloween night in Estonia was a bit wet and cold but for most part they opened up their hearts and ears to what I had to bring to the club. I was shocked to see the response when I got on … people really went off and I believe they had the time of their lives … Estonians got Pimped! For you all that don’t know where Estonia is, go “google map” it because it’s one of the new happening places in Eastern Europe … Many thanks to all for opening their House to Me to come rock it. See ya soon! I have no audio but I did get some video.
And finally I got to Belfast Ireland. After almost a 5year absence in Belfast and Shine in particular, I arrived ready to reclaim the night and play some good ol’ Sneak Beats … It was a special night as they celebrated their 13th year anniversary… I played to some freaky Halloween dressed ready to party Irish!!! They all had a blast and I did as well but most importantly I was there to wreck the system and get Belfast back on track! I think they really missed the sound cause they could not stop dancing and cheering the whole night! I got to see a little of Green Velvet’s live performance, and well, the FREAK of all freaks put it down for Chicago sound! It was the one two combo of Chicagoness!! I’ll be back there for them fans that handed me their phones with texts that I should be playin’ main room, we are coming back soon to claim it, no worries.
In Belfast
Wow, it seems like I’ve been on the road so much that I almost forgot what was coming the next weekend, SNEAK BDAY BEATS! But first there were some elections happening mid week and like everyone in the world, I watched the Election OF BARRACK OBAMA! The new President Elected rocked the vote and MADE History. Good times are coming my friends, we all have to believe in this. Congratulations to all of us, because Americans came together and showed the world that mistakes were made these past 8 years but Americans are not to blame, the Crooks are out!!! Now it’s OBAMA-OBAMA-OBAMA time!
So finally with all this excitement happening in the world, I felt like the SNEAK BIRTHDAY BEATS weekend would be the right time to celebrate… Los Angeles was crazy nice. The new venue Versus pulled it together and we were able to have a good Jam! Jon B and Corey Wells did a great live performance that set up the room for Derrick Carter and I to close it out. I know people were kinda thrown off by the big-ness of the venue but we think big and wanted as many people to enjoy the weekend. I love to have a good time and we all had a blast, it was so dope to see some of the best LA folks come together and party. And for this party to be the opener of the long weekend of birthday festivities I really was happy after all. Thank you all so much for supporting and showing some love… Respect to Brett from B3 & crew for helping out, Pinga & crew for having my back plus the dope sneak b-day beats T’s. Big thanks to Mike B and Crew, Acid Girls, Shawn V, Paparazzi, & Staccato, for showing love and being part of the event. Shout outs to Jimmy Q from Chicago who traveled so he wouldn’t miss the beats… and props to Mel & Pete from Canada who also made the trek to both LA and SFO. We’re still bringin' the BEATS!

A very special Bday in LA
Last Stop and one of my favorites on the map, San Francisco! Part 2 of the Beats B-day weekend was pretty close to perfect, even tough the venue Mezzanine took over and cut the guest list “massively”. My sincere apologies to anybody who got treated like dicks at the door, it was out of my control. Thank you to all who came in and supported! It was a CRAZY good night! Unexpected guest Mark Farina came to throw down a set, followed by Derrick Carter, then myself and Stacey Pullen to close it out … it was like a nonstop musical eruption! In the side room DJ Mes, Wally, Roque, Easily Influenced and Dawn put it down for the cause. Much love to all for representing! I got some great memories and gifts from all you … thank you!

Oh yeah, the night wasn’t over till daytime, so we ended up at what I want to call the “TENDERLOIN” spot, doors were opened to a few select to come finish up the beats with style. This was almost the best party as there was no stress at all (thanks Dusty), people came out to get their last dance on, MES ripped it up for a while then I joined for a bit again to end it on a great note. Thank you all so much! My b-day always rocks cause you all make it rock!
‘til next time …. Sneak.
